What is Escrima?

Escrima is the art of fighting with sticks, knives, swords and other sharp weapons in an artful play of footwork and combination moves designed to strike, cut and/or neutralize an enemy. Its beautiful moves require concentration and coordination.  Free trial class by request.

What is Jiu Jitsu?

BRAZILIAN JIUJITSU.  We offer the Gracie style of Brazilian Jiujitsu for adults and children over 9 years old. This is a style of fighting from Brazil and includes take downs and ground fighting. It is a very intense class that will improve your stamina and body strength.  Mr. Cruz has been an instructor of Jiujitsu for over 10 years at the Gerson Sanguinito Jiujitsu Academy in Culver City and has been teaching at our studio for the last five years. Free trial class by request.

What is Kendo?

Kendo is an ancient art from Japan using swords and a highly stylized form of combat. It requires a full armor and a traditional bamboo sword (shinai) for practice. This art improves your posture and upper body strength as well as strengthening the arms and wrists. It is a precise art with centuries of budo tradition. Sensei Shikai is an official coach and referee of the Japanese Kendo Association in Japan and has been teaching at Jun Chong Martial Arts for over 20 years. Free class by request.

What is Iaidō?

Teacher: Master Myung Kim

With over 40 years experience, Master Chul Jin M. Kim has mastered Iaido, Kumdo, Spear, Staff, Knife, and Nunchuku weapons, in addition to martial arts styles. Hapkido, Tae Kwon Do, and Judo. His expertise has led him to coordinate stunts on numerous movies including “3 Ninjas” and being featured in “Best of the Best 2.” In addition, Master Kim owns two schools in the San Fernando area and continues teaching.
